How to move your Vinted stock to Whatnot
If you sell clothing on Vinted, you probably have stock that's been sitting for weeks. A Whatnot live stream can clear a lot of it in an hour. Here's how to choose what to move, price it for auction, and get it from Vinted's format into Whatnot's without retyping everything.

Key takeaways
- —Move the pieces that are slow on Vinted but easy to sell on camera: recognisable brands, bundles and mixed rails.
- —Auctions open lower than a Vinted asking price. Start low enough to get bids going.
- —Whatnot needs its own category, condition wording and UK shipping band for every listing; Vinted's details don't map across one for one.
- —Keep one stock list, and take the Vinted listing down when something sells on Whatnot.
Why move Vinted stock to Whatnot at all
Vinted works when a buyer searches for exactly your item. Whatnot works when an audience is watching and bidding. Stock that never comes up in a search (a plain branded jumper, a decent pair of jeans, a mixed lot) can sell quickly in a room where people are already buying.
You don't have to choose one. Plenty of UK resellers list on Vinted all week and run a Whatnot show with whatever hasn't moved.
What to move
- Items that have sat on Vinted for 30 days or more
- Recognisable brands that sell on name alone
- Pieces that are better shown on camera: texture, fit, a good colour
- Things you'd happily bundle or run as a numbered rail
- Keep highly specific, search-led items (rare sizes, exact models) on Vinted, where the right buyer finds them
Pricing for auction
A Vinted price is an asking price; a Whatnot price is usually a starting bid. Open too high and nobody bids. Many sellers start well under their Vinted price and let the room take it up, keeping a few stronger pieces at a firmer start.
Whatnot's commission and processing come off the final price, so check what you'd keep on a low hammer price with the Whatnot fee calculator before you commit.
Translating the listing
Vinted's fields don't line up with Whatnot's. For each item you'll need:
- A Whatnot category and subcategory, such as Men's Fashion > Men's Modern
- Whatnot's condition wording, for example Vinted's 'Very good' becoming 'Pre-owned - Excellent' and 'Satisfactory' becoming 'Pre-owned - Fair'
- A UK shipping band, such as 500 to <750 grams for a hoodie, which Vinted never asks for
- A short title that reads well on stream: brand, item, colour, size
Keeping both platforms straight
The risk with selling in two places is the same item selling twice. Keep one stock list as the source of truth. When something sells on Whatnot, take it off Vinted straight away, and vice versa.
The quick way
ResellIQ imports your whole Vinted wardrobe, photos included, into one inventory. Pick what's going on the show in the stream planner, adjust start prices, and export a Whatnot UK bulk-upload CSV with the categories, conditions and shipping bands already mapped. Everything you don't sell stays in your stock for Vinted.
